In relation to the specific problems of the southeast region of Mexico, three Lines of Research that encompass these phenomena are established as the focus of research for the Institute, so that during the activities of the program, the doctoral students will help enrich the doctrine in applicable topics.
These lines of research are strengthened with its development and are based on the professional activity of the Basic Faculty, so each Line of Research will be supported by at least 3 full-time professors who are members of the Basic Faculty. The Lines of Research are as follows:
The research projects to be carried out during the doctoral program must be directly related to the Lines Research of Legal Research Institute.
Preferably research projects will focus on the lines of research of the IIJ UNACH, namely:
Democratic governance, institutional reform and fundamental rights at the local level
In this sense, it is suggested that research projects should reflect on the factors that influence the evolution, development and strengthening of the constitutional rule of law and public institutions, setting up from the reality and perspective of the States.
Projects that focus on other areas related to contemporary issues of building the rule of law in southeastern Mexico and Central America can also be admitted.
These studies are taught in at least five semesters and a maximum of eight. In that period students must complete their doctoral dissertation, and successfully defend it in open examination within 5 years from registration to the PhD Program in Law.
